Battery

Police responded to the 100 block of North York around 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 26 on a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned a woman had observed her daughter being yelled at by a person not identified by police. When the woman intervened, the person punched her in the face, as did a second person. Police did not make any arrests because of conflicting stories about the incident and because no one wanted to sign criminal complaints, according to a police report.

Hit and Run

Police apprehended three suspects fleeing from a hit-and-run crash near North Avenue and West Street just before 10 a.m. on Dec. 23. Police determined the vehicle was stolen in Cook County. The driver was also found with a stolen credit card and two stolen GPS units. Two of the suspects were released without charges, while the driver was taken into custody by Cook County authorities, police said.

Theft

A resident in the 100 block of South Linden reported on Dec. 24 that someone withdrew $1,000 from her Chase checking account.

A resident in the 900 block of South Parkside reported on Dec. 26 that someone made three unauthorized ATM withdrawals on her account totaling $280.
