St. Pat's Bar Fight Trial Moved to August

An Elmhurst family charged after a March fight and Tasing at Spring Inn will make their next court appearance Aug. 1; their counsel continues to find witnesses.

The trials for an Elmhurst family charged after a at Spring Inn have been pushed to Aug. 1 as their attorney continues to compile witnesses.

"Ultimately, we'll get justice," attorney Vince Solano said.

Solano represents Bryan, Brian and Steven Connell of Elmhurst, who were charged with battery and other charges the day of the Elmhurst St. Patrick's Day Parade at Spring Inn. Steven Connell was Tased after local police said he attacked an officer.

The men made brief court appearances this morning.

Solano said his firm receives calls from witnesses "every couple of days" with .

"Almost all of them, to a T, completely contradict the police," he said.

For example, Solano said witnesses have told him officers were "shooting off Tasers" at the bar crowd without warning, which is in contradiction to the police reporting they deployed the Taser on Steven Connell after he twice attempted to attack an officer.

Solano said he has yet to receive photo or video evidence from the scene, so it appears the full story will not be revealed until the Connells' next court appearance in August.

"We're just getting our witnesses," Solano said.
