The outside should be described as many are not much more than tables next to a parking lot or a street. This is not true of the outside dining at Mack's Golden Pheasant. They have maintained an outside garden for quite some time now which provided a beautiful view for those sitting inside near a window. Now they have made an addition to the restaurant which is an outside dining area. The scenery is beautiful filled with flowers and fauna along with a small fish pond. Sufficiently lighted to give the outside diners quite a view. So I would nominate Mack's Golden Pheasant as one of the most attractive outside dining areas.

I agree - this is one of our favorite Elmhurst spots. Steve and his staff are very friendly. And the food is great too. If you haven't tried their ribs, which fall off the bone, you should. All you can eat Ribs on Thursday and Saturday. YUM!

Mack's Golden Pheasant get my nod too. Not only for the "best food in town, but for the great friendly staff and the historic building. It's a landmark right here in town, and owner Steve is The Best !!

DL, shame on me since I focused on the garden but forgot the food. There are early specials and dinner specials every night. A three course dinner (soup, salad, and main course) at reasonable prices. They start you off with a loaf of bread. I really enjoy their soups and have some dinner preferences like their Teriyaki Chicken or Chicken Oscar from the regular menu. From the early special the potatoe encrusted chicken is superb. The specials every night vary. They are well known for their fish fry on Friday, but my wife and I enjoy their Italian special on Wednesday. Their sandwiches are also nice for a change but even here I take home leftovers when I get their open faced Ruben sandwich which even comes with soup or salad and potatoes. There is an assortment of food including steaks and Bohemian dinners, too many to list here. My wife and I have become regulars and feel very welcomed by the staff. We return to the same restaurant for a reason: good food and service.

the Salseria! And I'm clearly not the only one who thinks so because those outside tables are always full. It's fun to sit on the "Elmhurst Strip" (downtown on York) for lunch with the fam during the day and for margaritas with friends at night!

Wow! Thanks, DL. We totally forgot about Mack's! (why???) Thanks for the reminder. We'll go there next week for sure. Let's all support our Elmhurst businesses. So many Elmhurst folks end up in Oak Brook, etc. We have such a great variety of businesses in our own town. No place like home! And the tax $ stay here. Elmhurst has it all :)

Flight 112 is my favorite destination for outdoor eating n drinking. The new outdoor patio is cozy and Thursday night Sangria's are great. The flatbreads pizza's are awesome.

Pints is the best. It's the only beer garden with televisions (3 HDTVs) and a retractable awning in case there's too much sun or in case it starts raining.

Roberto's is the best. Over looking the Prairie Path it's a perfect location to enjoy their wonderful food served by their great staff.
