Police Blotter: Multiple Licenses and Other Traffic Trouble

Traffic
Choi Yong, 69, of Glenview was charged with aggravated driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop near Hahn and Third around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 1. Police initially stopped the vehicle because a front passenger, Paul Yoo, 59, of Streamwood, was observed without a seat belt. Yoo was cited for the seat belt violation and released. Yong reportedly gave the officer two fake driver’s licenses before providing his correct license, which was found to be suspended. Yong was taken to DuPage County Jail.
Daniel Peralta, 34, of Lombard, was charged with driving with a suspended license and improper passing after a traffic stop just after 7 a.m. on July 30 in the 600 block of West North Avenue. Peralta was released on an I-Bond.
Lynn Scott-Jones, 42, of Addison, was charged with driving with a suspended license after a traffic accident around 2:30 p.m. on July 30 at York Road and Industrial. No injuries were reported by police.
Sean E. Luke, 24, of the 400 block of South York Road, was charged with driving with a suspended license, no insurance and driving with a suspended registration after a traffic stop near Palmer and Marion around 5:10 p.m. on July 31. He was released after posting cash bond.

So glad the police are focusing, yet again, on revenue- making tickets. How about the burglaries abd bank robberies..any progress on solving those?

What exactly do YOU want the police to do? Drive aimlessly through sub-divisions hoping to come across someone that don’t belong. But now it that profiling? Remember they can’t be stopped, according to some, then they are enforcing traffic laws. 50% of these arrest were made in the downtown area, one was an accident, what don’t arrest them, let them go? How do you know any of these people weren’t driving in residential areas and stopped where they were to see what they were doing AND then found not to have a license. A small portion of each ticket is given to Elmhurst, the State, the County and others all have their hand in the pot, so Elmhurst doesn’t financially benefit to great extremes when writing tickets, they do it to protect the citizens from speeders, DUIs and others that should not be on the roadways. If you haven’t been paying attention to the patch, there have been numerous people arrested for burglary. The bank robberies are a Federal Crime, why not call the FBI and see where the investigation is going.

Again, I don’t see that many reports of Robberies….could you list the Robberies that have occurred? A couple bank robberies, yes, but in reality, compared to other towns the size of Elmhurst, crime is low, especially violent crime. Walk the beat…that is a great idea, but Elmhurst is rather large and there are not enough officers to cover the entire town. Let’s hire more officers, but then there would be whiners that there are too many officers and their taxes are too high. But Really Jeff, is there anything you don’t whine about?
