Police Blotter: Child Hospitalized After Drinking a Lot of Alcohol, Another Child is Lost and Found

Elmhurst police reports June 8-11.

 

MONDAY, JUNE 11, 2012

Lost Child Nets Visit from DCFS

A woman was approached by young child who had wandered alone into her back yard at 4:34 p.m. June 11. Police said the child could only say "grandma's house." While they were attempting to get the child's information, DuPage Public Safety Communications received a call from the child's mother, who reported him missing. The child was returned home and the Department of Children and Family Services was contacted.

Man Wanted in Georgia

Nicholas France, 46, 14910 Huntington Place, Orland Park, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and unlawful use of registration after police pulled over his red Dodge Dakota for no plate light at North Avenue and Interstate 290 at 1:18 a.m. June 11. Police also discovered he was wanted in Georgia for outstanding warrants. He was taken to DuPage County Jail to await extradition to Georgia.

FRIDAY, JUNE 8

Eleven-year-old Hospitalized for Intoxication

An 11-year-old was taken to the hospital after drinking an entire 200 ml bottle of tequila along with some vodka, police said. When officers arrived at around 2 a.m. June 8, the child was laying on the ground and was in and out of consciousness. Police said the child's blood-alcohol concentration was .189, more than twice the legal limit of .08. Police did not release the address of the child.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Sabrina Diaz, 24, 401 Gilbert, Wood Dale, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her Toyota Corolla for improper lane use at Lake and Grand at 1:19 a.m. June 8. She was released on bond.
