Police Arrest Three Members of the Same Family at Home on Emroy After Drug Investigation
Firearms also found in the home.
Elmhurst police executed a search warrant at 460 N. Emroy Friday, Oct. 5, after an investigation into the alleged sale of illegal drugs from the residence. Seized from the house were 23 Adderall pills, cannabis, numerous items of drug paraphernalia and four firearms, police said.
Three residents of the home were arrested and charged:
- A 17-year-old was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of fireworks and unlawful use of weapon.
- Mario Cuomo, 19, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Dominick Cuomo, 45, was charged with possession of firearms without a firearm owner’s identification card.
The 17-year-old was taken to DuPage County Jail. Mario and Dominick Cuomo were released on bond.

This seems like much to do about nothing. Some Pot and some no-doze.

it's nothing til it's something. lots of teens hang out at and around that house. it's near an elementary school with many younger kids living in the area. when one of the boys gets high and fires away with a gun it will be something. zero tolerance and required video monitoring. thank you law enforcement investigators.

Why would prescription Adderall pills be noteworthy to the police? Are they an illegal drug I'm not aware of? It seems like what the police were after (finding evidence of the selling of drugs) was not found, so they had to come up with some other things to charge them with. As with most things, there are a lot of details about what really happened that have been omitted.

Clearly we don't know all of the details - but to "S" if someone was selling Adderall to others that would be illegal since it is a regulated drug for which you need a prescription to posses. To others, whether you agree or not - pot is still illegal and so are firearms without the proper documentation. It doesn't seem to me that this story was much ado about nothing - it looked more like a statement of some facts. The commenters seem to be making more of it with the reactions to it.

Why was the third party referred to as 'a 17 year old' was it another family member ?

What is with the commenters complaining that this is no big deal? What is wrong with your judgment?
1. The 17 year-old was charged with unlawful USE of a weapon - not possession without ID. So tell me how THAT is "no big deal!" As Mike Smith says, who wants some kid stoned out of his mind with access to a gun?!?
2. FOUR firearms in the home and not a single FOID card. Not ok.
3. Adderall is not innocuous. It is a combination of multiple amphetamines and thus is very popular for abuse among teens. Those with prescriptions don't take it but sell it to other kids. So the kid who needs it isn't getting treated while other kids who don't need it are using it to get high. It has a high incidence of dependence. Not ok.
4. Just because you know the parent doesn't mean he's a good parent. My parents beat the crap out of us for years and everyone thought they were good parents because we were well behaved kids. We were well behaved because we were scared s***less. I'm not saying this guy is a bad guy - I'm just saying you NEVER know what someone is like behind closed doors. And frankly, a parent allowing illegal drugs and multiple guns in a home (with no permits) is NOT a good parent in my book.

First of all the firearms were from the 1800s collector items. There was no ammunition found and may not even be functional. The adderall had a prescription with it. The 17 year old did not use a weapon he had possession of a small pocket knife. You know the kind all boys used to have years ago. The amount of pot was a single use size. For people who think this is uncommon for teens are fooling themselves . As far as all the kids who are going in and out of the house all the time-this is a family who feeds many teens who have been kicked out of their parents home with no whee to go and the family tries to give them a safe place to hang out while their parents are neglecting them. Is that such a crime. It seems to me that this a case of a neighbor who has nothing better to do than worry about what other people are doing instead of something constructive in the community. This is a good family and it's a shame they have to go through this. They are innocent people with good hearts. Signed the other neighbors.

The other neighbors - really? You choose to remain anonymous - if they were so wonderful why are you ashamed to post your name? Also, unlawful possession of a controlled substance means there was NO prescription, otherwise it would not be unlawful. And g...you don't know what I support or don't support, and I made NO mention of fireworks. Also, learn the difference between your and you're and how to use apostrophes. Yeah, go ahead and attack me and show what a real class act you are, you anonymous fool.
