Patch Is Collecting Questions for Obama and Romney During the Next Presidential Debate

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you.

The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, where voters will ask President Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy.

Patch is asking you, our readers, to participate by submitting questions for the candidates.

All you have to do is post your question in the comments section below and we’ll send it to the Commission on Presidential Debates. The Commission is partnering with Patch's parent company Aol, along with Google and Yahoo, to take questions from web users across the country.

Don’t wait until Nov. 6 to have a say in this year’s election. Share your thoughts in the comments!

Gov. Romney:

I paid very close attention to your tenure as Governor of Massachusetts. You were in the forefront of the moderate, even liberal wing of the Republican party. By today's standards you would have been considered a fairly liberal politician. Now you seem to be trying to be a fairly extreme conservative; "seriously", I think you said.

Do you have any solid, core political philosophy or are you simply a person who will say and do whatever you think is necessary in order to get elected? In other words, are you a statesman or just another opportunist? Having listened closely I simply don't know who you are or what you think.

I guess my question is this: How can I actually believe anything that you say?

And how can we believe anything Obummer states? He has no record other than running around with the Chicago criminals like Resko, Blago, Rahm Emanuel and his buying his Senate Seat, Jesse Jackson Depressive Jr. He cannot even speak without his Teleprompter. How can the American people believe him? In California alone, gas prices are now over $5.00 a gallon. He invested in 7 energy companies with taxpayers money and they all went bankrupt.Oblamer will say anything to get REELECTED. Americans were fooled once by the Fraud-Con-Man-in-Chief but not again....

I think both candidates should be asked the question, "What does being an American mean to you?"

I tend to agree that the President will get re-elected. It may actually be best since I feel the President will expedite breaking the system quicker than our current "Death by a thousand cuts" I unfortunately believe the system needs to be broken before the political clowns (everyone in Washington) make the structural changes needed to make America great again, and Phoenix (America) will rise from the ashes.

I would ask Gov Romney to definitively answer how Romneycare and Obamacare a different. And his answer must be at least two minutes long.

And Pres Obama must answer the question "without blaming anyone who hasn't been in office during your Presidency, why haven't you decreased unemployment or done anything to substantively reboot the economy?"

Mr. President: Why has the Affordable Care Act caused such division and anger in our society? How will your second term heal that division?

Mr. Romney: You have a personal record of caring for those less fortunate. How can your Presidency inspire the nation to embrace the same behavior given the greed and entitlement dependency in our society?

President Obama,
I am a public school teacher for the past 9 years and offered my services in 2009 to analyze the data of Chicago Public Schools in order to help teachers gain a better understanding of their incoming students. I was offering my services at no charge in hopes of providing a change and doing my part to help public education. I got a canned reponse back from Arne Duncan saying thank you but nothing more. I have to say, I have actually seen our public education system go backwards in the past four years.

The deciding issue for me is, which candidate is least likely to start another war in the Mideast? So, I would ask Gov. Romney whether he will launch a war against Iran on behalf of Israel if the Iranians proceed with their nuclear weapons program, as he seemingly promised he would do when he addressed the Israeli Parliment. If he waffles, evades the question or contradicts other answers he has given (as might be expected, based on his answers to other direct questions) then I would have to vote for President Obama.

Mr. Mann please let me know when and where Mr. Romney states he plans to start a war? The Demorats like to start these lies. I receive e-mails from the Romney team and their is no mention of starting a war. Your Obama is losing and now you want to start the false accusations that Romney will start a war in the Middle East? The only war that needs to be started is getting our economy back from the failed policies of Obama. He interviewed with Barbara Walters back in 2008 stating his worse personality trait is he is lazy. And from his Debate performance and his failed Presidency it most definitely shows...But I will e-mail Mr. Romney about your comment because I am sure you obtained it from our demonizing Liberal Lyin Media who protects and supports the Anti-American Obama at every cost.

Care bear - that is an incredibly ignorant statement. Hopefully you bring a little more to the table in your future statements than that.

I would ask Mr. Obama why he acts like whoever he is talking to? He can be eloquent and educated one minute and act like a disgruntled ghetto rat the next? Which Obama is the real one because if he wins he will be a lame Duck and all holds are bared. The first term he shoved his agenda down our throats with all his Czars! and poor investments what makes anyone think he won't go nuts and punish anyone making over $9 an hour in his next term?
