Oakbrook Terrace Home Burns for 2 1/2 Hours

The home just southwest of Elmhurst was vacant at the time. DuPage County investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.

A home on the 1S500 block of Halsey Road in Oakbrook Terrace, just southwest of Elmhurst, caught fire at around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning and burned through the early morning, the Doings Oak Brook reports.

According to the paper, the two-story wooden home was vacant at the time and nobody was hurt in the fire. DuPage County investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.

“The fire took about 2 1/2 hours to suppress,” Oakbrook Terrace Fire Prevention District chief Ralph DeLuca, Jr. told the paper. “The damage was easily the value of the residence; it was extensive.”
