If Elmhurst succeeds in getting an electricity choice question on the March 20 ballot, the League of Women Voters will be there to help residents understand the issue.
The city's Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee has studied the issue of electricity aggregation for a few months. Aggregation brings large numbers of users together to negotiate better electricity rates than currently offered by ComEd.
The first step would be to ask residents via referendum if they would like to purchase electricity from an aggregator. On Monday, the committee began the process by recommending the placement of a referendum on the March ballot.
Members of the League of Women Voters of Elmhurst, including current president and former Alderman Susan Rose, were also there to express support for the referendum and pledged to help educate voters on the issue.
City Manager Jim Grabowski told the committee that the issue is gaining traction among suburbs, and that the aggregation ballot questions have received overwhelming community support.

Jerry:
You're being too logical. Government's don't properly consider the downsides of their actions or we wouldn't be in the financial mess we're in.

I read that Com Ed is going to do an unprecedented tree trimming. I suggest they do an unprecedented burying of the lines. Lines don't grow trees do. Trimming is a waste of time as it never ends.
