Illinois suffers from a stagnant economy and anemic job growth. State legislators must create an environment that promotes jobs and stops adding roadblocks to job creation. We've been lagging behind many states in job creation because of increased taxes and fees, new rules and regulations and an overall anti-business climate. We can do better.
Like many of you, I was happy to hear that I had been remapped into Senator Kirk Dillard’s new 24th District. He is a man who knows how to rein in government spending and create new jobs. When Dillard was Governor Edgar's chief of staff, he made job creation and economic growth a priority. The Edgar era marked the greatest job growth in state history. Sen. Dillard has a plan. He will make Illinois a Destination Economy to attract new businesses to the state. Dillard will promote aggressive job creation programs to put Illinois to work again.
Dillard helped sponsor legislation to "shock" the Illinois economy back to life. He will continue to push for "innovation zones” which provide tax credits and financial assistance to high tech companies that locate in these special areas. Dillard will make sure Illinois workers have both the academic and technical skills needed to compete in today's global economy.
Vote for Sen. Kirk Dillard in the March 20 primary to reinvigorate the Illinois economy. I am, and I urge you to do so, too.

Well said Mark.
You forgot to mention how articulate and photogenic he is as well:

Dillard did a FABULOUS job helping Obama get elected president while serving us as the head of the DuPage Republican Party. Seventeen years as a so called Republican State Senator and he never had the decency & good sense to think this was a bad idea? Yikes!

Ditto Jean! It is urgent as conservatives that we be vigilant in "sniffing" out CINO's-that is conservatives-in-name-only if there is any hope of this state recovering. I don't trust either of the candidates running for this office.

I got to tell you folks there is just too much negative that comes out of the Nybo camp. How does Mr. Nybo think anyone is going to follow him when he and his supporters are so negative all the time? My father use to say “Any ass can kick the barn down, but it takes a carpenter to build one.” We all already know the state is in financial trouble. The real question I have for Mr. Nybo is what is his plan to build and grow? Just ripping on people all the time will not do it. All I see is anger, meanness, and finger pointing coming from Mr. Nybo and his people. We do not need a spoiled brat for State Senator we need a mature person. Someone that can bring people together not push them apart.
Vote for Senator Dillard folks enough is enough from this angry young man!

Walter, I have to call you on that one. With the exception of Mr. Mulliner's letter above, which is respectful in tone and refrains from making ad hominem attacks, there has been nothing but negativity and personal attacks posted by Dillard supporters on this board. (A good example, but not necessarily the most egregious, is your reference to Mr.Rep. Nybo as a "spoiled brat.") The Nybo supporters, on the other hand, stick to the issues. Please do not insult my intelligence by saying that all you see is "anger, meanness, and finger pointing coming from Mr. Nybo and his people." That is a complete falsehood.

Thank you for that equation Susan. May I offer you another to complete:
56 year old Chairman + US Sen. Obama + Natl. TV ad + Dream Act vote + Red light Speed Camera vote + Approving Embryonic Stem Cell Vote + RTA tax vote + Blago borrowing to pay pension vote + Gambling Expansion Votes + taking over $400K from Gaming, Liquor, Utilities, Horsetracks and Teachers Unions in the past 3 months + taking $250K from IEA two years ago = ____________
I'm very interested in the answer to this equation.

With respect to the letter writer who I find to be a decent guy, I would suggest that Mr. Dillard was drawn into this district, not the other way around. 99.5% of Elmhurst is in this district along with Lombard, GE and Wheaton. Oak Brook, OBT and small parts of Westmont, DG and CH were already in Chris' current representative area. Notice I don't call it his district. It's our district; the people who reside here. While Mr. Mulliner makes a case for Gov. Edgar, he does not account for the fact Mr. Dillard has been in the State Senate during the 20 year downward spiral of State Finances which has occurred entirely on his watch. He blames it all on the Democratic party. Well, they're still more in charge than ever in Springfield. Are we to believe after 20 years, Mr. Dillard is not poised to accomplish these feats? He's been there quite long enough and we've seen our economy collapse into an embarrassment nationally. It's time to shake up the line up. Chris Nybo has always and will continue to do Elmhurst and her neighbors very proud. He's poised to be Elmhurst's only voice in Springfield. We're a long way from a "Destination Economy". We can't be that until we remove the awful burdens plaguing businesses here now and fix our own financial house. $400K in lobbyist money proves who one of these candidates is listening to the most.

Nybo has no chance to get anything accomplished for OUR district as he is unable to work with others- Democrats or Republicans, hence the lack of ANY siginificant endorsements. It is laughable to suggest he will single-handedly lead Illinois back on the road to recovery - sounds a lot like HOPIUM.

Kevin, endorsements IS the name of the game - only those who have none (NYBO ) disparage them and it sounds like desperate sour grapes to say they are totally meaningless. You want the voter's to buy into your paid/unpaid endorsement - what qualifies you? Avid Patch reader? Regular "Joe" has has nothing in the game? Please do not insult the intelligence of the people of this district.

Endorsements are made by organizations that study the issue hard and don't pay attention to campaign workers' drive by comments. Endorsements are made only after long study of the candidates records, demeanor, gravitas, and most importantly, the ability to get reforms done. It is telling that Rep. Not Your Best Option has received NOT A SINGLE ENDORSEMENT BY ANY ORGANIZATION. These organizations know the issues better than most of us (with the obvious exception of Kevin who seems to know all and see all).
I suggest voters study these endorsements and the candidate's record in office. Understand why Nybo has "...alienated many people whit his highly off-putting style." as the Tribune said. Talk to his colleagues from the Elmhurst City Council and the legislature. Understand for yourself, don't believe me or Kevin, or others from the Campaign staffs.

No Frank. Endorsements are made by cronies who don't want a system that rewards nothingness to change. People vote by secret ballot because that system allows them to vote their own conscience. Has it not occurred to you throughout this entire process that we have never once sought the endorsement of a single political individual or organization. We have have tens of thousands of conversations with the people who actually decide. The voters are intelligent enough to make a choice in high profile race without having to consult any other long time Old School Boy (and School Girl) recommendations. If there were ever a cycle where that meant less and could actually hurt you, it's this one. Keep working that angle.

I agree with you Frank Cinncinanuts Canzolino. Endorsements are HUGE and should be taken with the respect they deserve. I am especially interested in the endorsement Dillard made for Obama as the head of the DuPage REPUBLICAN Party: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTtUbzYDzB0
You can be assured that I will "...study these endorsements and the candidate's record in office." As you have so thoughtfully suggested.
Thank you for that kind and respectful suggestion. Great idea.

PROVE IT. I now understand why people say you do not tell the truth. Some may actually call you a liar. But based on another post where you outline that Dillard only has paid you $2.000 for working 5-6 days a week, 12 hours a day since JULY...I feel sorry for you. You have shown us that Dillard spends lavishly on himself & the current Mrs. Dillard and cannot even pay you minimum wage for all of your hard work!
Winning at all costs? Isn't that what you say in your business as a so called Independent Political Consultant?

No Frank, you can't post it because it doesn't exist and never did. There was never a group on Facebook of Students for Obama that included any University of Chicago students. Never. We dealt with this in the last cycle when Chris ran for State Rep. The same lie was told back then. He also did not coordinate any precinct walks for Obama in that election. He helped on one weekend in his race against former Black Panther officer Bobby Rush for Congress. He was 21 and in Hyde Park. He wasn't a 56 year old GOP party chairman. Chris did however work for Bob Dole at Dartmouth in '96 and he also DID manage Dan Cronin's very successful campaign in 2002 after the last redistricting against a wonderful and very beloved Tom Walsh. That's the last time the Dem's did a number on a map. I repeat, there was never a Facebook page that you're referring to. That's a blatant untruth.
