Letter: Dillard Understands the Needs of Businesspeople

Dillard's focus has included tort reform, repealing the state income tax increase, bringing Navistar back to DuPage and other pro-business initiatives.

The Illinois General Assembly has passed higher corporate and personal income taxes. This affects me and every business person, small or large, and every other taxpayer in the state. Overburdening taxes and regulation is stifling the business community and stopping our ability to hire. It’s all about jobs, jobs, and more jobs, and we need to repeal this oppressive tax increase.

Senator Kirk Dillard has a strong pro-business record and has sponsored several pieces of legislation to put Illinois to work again. Dillard is also fighting for the repeal of the Quinn/Madigan/Cullerton tax increase. When I heard I had been redistricted into Sen. Dillard’s new 24th District, I was extremely encouraged.

Sen. Dillard has been repeatedly named, "Champion of Free Enterprise" by the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce. Dillard spearheaded legislation that encouraged Navistar to move its headquarters back to DuPage County. Dillard is recognized as a leading Tort Reform advocate, and has been on the front lines of fighting trial lawyers who kill jobs by frivolous lawsuits.

On March 20th, I will be voting for Sen. Kirk Dillard in his bid for reelection. Illinois needs legislators like Dillard who understand the needs of businessmen, so that we can create the jobs that our families need to prosper. Remember – Vote Dillard.

Dillard was the first politician to take a stand for the people when he opposed a proposal to locate 170,000 gallons of above ground fuel storage within steps of homes, forest preserves and a school - a proposal by Navistar that was being pushed thru in a back room deal by the Village of Lisle.
