I believe District 205 needs another proven leader on its board, and that leader is Alan J. Brinkmeier. We no longer want someone who has no experience or understanding of our community. School Board members are among the most important community positions. The decisions that they make not only effect students, but also school district employees and residents on a daily basis.
I believe Alan is the best candidate for a board position because he understands all aspects of this job. When acting as a School Board member, one must start with the understanding that every student has the basic right to a great public school education and put those interests first before their own. I believe Alan fully embraces this understanding and will always strive to achieve the highest standards for our students, our community and our district employees.
I fully support the election of Alan J. Brinkmeier to the District 205 School Board.

I agree, this post is weak, and not substantiated. Additionally, why does it infer that the current board is unqualified, who voted them in ?

How do you support someone for public office when that person won't answer simple questions about his stance on stealing an opponent's yard signs or his stance on holding multiple public positions when he is seeking 2 or 3 public positions at the same time? These sure seem like fair questions to ask.

Thanks for the "heads up" David. I think maintaining a home-life, job, and 1 civic commitment is difficult; although it is only a part time; the board responsibilities are serious and time consuming. I believe governmental candidates should be dedicated focused, and no career builders

I would like to see all the candidates state their solutions to the fiscal crisis the schools face before anyone agrees to support them. It is clearly the number one issue that everything else revolves around.

I find it harder to understand why anyone would want to run for public office in Elmhurst, or anywhere, when they find themselves subjected to both personal attacks and innuendo. From these comments on Alan Brinkmeier to the comments on the letter supporting Steve Morley (and I have not read any other candidate letters or their comments, nor will I after all of these negative comments), I think that too many of residents find it too easy to pass judgement in an on-line forum. For the record, I know Alan Brinkmeier from his work as President of the Board of Directors on the Elmhurst Swim Team. I have found his dedication support to the students and student athletes in Elmhurst to be unwaivering. He is analytical and thoroughly researches issues before making decisions. I believe that these qualities will make him a valuable member of the Board of Education for the students in District 205, and the residents and taxpayers in District 205.

Just look at his track record of success and dedication. What more can you look for?

Read this quote" The Mark Mulliner Mayoral campaign will not go negative. And, the Mark Mulliner Mayoral campaign is in 100% compliance with all laws contrary to the lies and hate Doremus Jessup frequents these pages with."
So Brinkmeier accuses me of frequenting lies on these pages.? What lies have I posted? If I accused Brinkmeier of posting lies would the editor of this Patch remove my post? He posted that I lied, what lies have I posted ? Name one. I don't engage in lies or inuendo, everything I posted can be backed up. Wonder if I'll ever see, Alan Brinkmeier your post has been removed for violating out terms of use? Maybe if I stomp my feet I can get that to happen.

doremus; you really need to find a hobby or something. perpetual carping at brinkmeier, why ? what harm was done to you, accusing a fictional person of being a liar. brinkmeier has served this community for 25 years. on the board at elmhurst college. the zoning commission. what have you done for others ? the lies he accused you of related to him, not the Mulliner campaign so why are you trying to drag mulliner into this.. you need to face the fact that your candidate is about as deceptive as they come. she's a phony. mark my words, she will come in a distant third; she'll get all the tamara b conspiracy theorist followers; so go ahead and vote for the face of hypocrisy
