Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident
Arrests for cannabis also reported at Elmhurst College.
DUI Arrests
Jennifer Ojeda, 22, 43 S. Roberta, Northlake, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her white Chevrolet Malibu for speeding at St. Charles and Fellows Court at 1:41 a.m. Nov. 2. She was released on bond.
Teresa Ortega, 26, 9761 Ivanhoe Apt. 1S, Schiller Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her silver Oldsmobile Intrigue for speeding and improper lane use at Interstate 290 and Church at 1:10 a.m. Nov. 4. She was released on bond.
DUI-Drugs
Rosemary D. Cheatem, 58, 326 S. 46th St., Bellwood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after her red Chevrolet Sonic was involved in an accident with a 58-year-old man from Bellwood at St. Charles and Fair at 8:55 a.m. Nov. 8. She was released on I-bond.
Leaving the Scene of an Accident
Nicandro Reyes, 34, 1348 Fargo, Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with failure to give aid or information and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after his black Ford F150 was involved in an accident with a 52-year-old Rock Falls woman at 288 W. St. Charles at 6:33 p.m. Nov. 5. He was released on I-bond.
Disorderly Conduct
Jake M. Moran, 20, 559 Harmony Lane, Lombard, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on the 600 block of Berkley at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 2. He was released on I-bond at the scene.
Possession of Cannabis
John P. Petty, 18, 2208 Huestbourne Lane, Chatham, and Dean J. Kulis, 18, 510 State St., Lemont, were arrested and cited with possession of cannabis at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave., at 4:15 p.m. Nov. 3. They were released on bond.
Jacob Meyer, 20, 3690 Murray Lake Ave., Lowell, Mich., was arrested and cited for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave., at 3:11 p.m. Nov. 7. He was released on bond.
Warrant Arrests
Nancy L. Vail, 49, 617 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, was arrested on a warrant out of DuPage County after police pulled her over at York and Second at 10:18 p.m. Nov. 4. She was released on bond.
Jae Baek, 33, 2044 Stanley Court, Schaumburg, was arrested on a warrant for conditional release violation at Jewel-Osco, 944 S. York Road, at 8:57 p.m. Nov. 5. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Is the need to inform so great that we need reports of Elmhurst College students possessing small amounts of pot? With Google and internet search, now every future employer will have access to this minor indiscretion forever. Is it really worth ruining a young person's life? Wouldn't this be better served by a warning and a few hours of community service with the threat of publishing a second offense and explaining the severe consequences? Where is the compassion?

I think most people know Elmhurst cops have no compassion- they'll write you up for anything and publish it.

Learn the laws and know your rights. The Elmhurst Patch is the one who requests the arrest reports and publishes it. The PD has nothing to do with what gets published and shown even in the newspapers. Everything you see in the arrest columns are under the Freedom of Information Act for all citizens for request (Even Future Employers who will run a background check.)

Hey Ronn, NEWSFLASH.....smoking, possessing, selling, growing pot is ILLEGAL! Even a smart Elmhurst College student knows this. But, they do it anyway. What ever happened to owning up to ones own mistakes. It's people or parents like you that keep turning a blind eye to issues like this. No wonder a disturbing percentage of young adults use and get hooked on drugs. Give me a break!,

Oh and to Love Elmhurst, get your facts straight. Elmhurst Police do not write you up for anything. In fact, you'd poop yourself if you knew the actual amount of "breaks" police give people every day. Grow up.
