Elmhurst Police Continue Their Take-Down of Alleged Drug Dealers
Four arrest this month for possession with intent to deliver.
Elmhurst police have released information about another arrest for possession of drugs with intent to deliver.
As a result of an ongoing investigation, Glenn S. Wang, 23, 8429 S. Drake, Skokie, was taken into custody while in the act of delivering 3.1 grams of cocaine at 9:37 p.m. Oct. 25 at 630 W. Lake St., police said. (A mug shot of Wang was not immediately available.)
Police said .7 grams of cannabis also was found inside his gray Lexus LS 250. He was charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis. He was taken to DuPage County Jail and his vehicle towed for forfeiture.
This is the fourth arrest for delivery of a controlled substance by Elmhurst police this month. On Oct. 3, Charles J. Stainback and Ray L. Young, both of Bellwood, were arrested. On Oct. 11, Jerome Banks, also of Bellwood, was arrested.
And, on Oct. 18, police arrested Robert Brown of Chicago.
Last month, Elmhurst police arrested Leonard Marzano of Woodridge after a drug transaction involving large amounts of cocaine and other drugs.

I am in no way trying to make light of the fine police work done here; but the headline used by the paper is slightly misleading. An 8ball of blow and less than a gram of pot is hardly a 'continued take down of drug dealers'.
Maybe I was just hoping for some bigger news when I saw the headline.

The headline is in reference to this being the fifth arrest of alleged drug dealers—not just drug users—in recent weeks. It is unprecedented in my time at Elmhurst Patch, and possibly during my time covering Elmhurst for The Doings, although I'd have to research that. This is an ongoing investigation that is having some tangible results. Some of the other arrests linked in this story were for larger quantities of drugs.
