Elmhurst Celebrates International Museum Day Sunday with a Trolley Trip Through History

Elmhurst's four museums celebrated International Museum Day Sunday, May 15, with free admission, exhibits, kids' activities and prize drawings.
Museum-goers boarded a trolley to shuttle between the Theatre Historical Society at York Theatre, Elmhurst Historical Museum, Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art and the Elmhurst Art Museum.
Each location had free exhibits, fun activities and crafts. At Elmhurst Historical Museum, patrons viewed the exhibit, Toys in the 'Hood, and kids got to make a spinning top toy and enjoy lemonade and cookies.
At the Lizzadro Museum, visitors viewed the permanent collections, including gemstone treasures and earth science exhibits.
At the Theatre Historical Society of America, visitors viewed photos of historic theaters and vintage artifacts from the Chicago area.
The new exhibit at Elmhurst Art Museum is Works on Paper: Selections from the Elmhurst College Collection. The collection dates to 1971, when the college received federal funds to purchase art for the newly built A.C. Buehler Library. Other artists currently featured are Seymour Rosofsky (painting), Denise Burge (quilting) and Robert Hudson (sculpture).

We need a permanent trolley/shuttle that connects north and south Elmhurst via a common connection at central Elmhurst.
