At the public hearings on the bicycle plan, Mr. Brinkmeier was outstanding in gathering people's ideas and listening to them express themselves. The final product was a reflection of what the people were saying. Mr. Brinkmeier displayed judicial temperament and diligence when I saw him in action.

Nit Pick challenge of the day.
Mr . Brinkmeier is Mark Mulliner's campaign chairman, as Mr. Mulliner's campaign chairperson can he find the google ad policy violation I believe Mark's Google ad violates and can he fix it before another diligent Patcher can find and post it. If someone posts what I believe to be the violation I will respond. As info, I have not contacted Google about the violation, but maybe someone will if they find it.

DuPage County has some exceptionally good Judges.

It also has a few that make me wonder about their judicial temperament.

The same for the city Attorney that tries tickets etc. The truth is irrelevant and victory at all cost seems to be the norm. It reeks of being a kangaroo Court that has no objectivity and the accused are ALWAYS wrong. The same goes for the administrative judge for the city. I believe in the need for rules and laws. It is only when it is abused by those charged with application who abuse their position that I have a problem. They build their careers at the expense of others and they really don't care. If they could have a 100% conviction rate they would be seen as effective by the bureaucracy, even if a large percentage of the accused did nothing wrong. Sounds like the old Lake County. Please understand, DuPage has some exceptional Judges who do their job professionally and fairly.

He is an attorney, and this would be a career move if he is selected.

      Miss Chadra,
The Elmhurst website lists Members of the Zoning and Commission Board. Some of the member's terms have expired according to the website. Do you have a list of the current serving members and their terms they are serving?

I am not sure, I know he is running for the school board. Perhaps he could respond.
I just realized you might be asking an open ended question. My response was initially based on your name that I thought was directed to me. I will say though, that Jim, you sound like a nice guy.

doremus: remember we told you to stay on task; if we start picking fights with a respected Judge to be like Brinkmeier, it could come back to haunt us. you did a great job deflecting criticism from diane & rudi on the RoboSurvey we did, so stay on task; we need to somehow convince people that diane actually said the word "object" during the september 10th closed meeting - how can we accomplish this?? could we maybe audioshop her voice on to the tape. we've got all the Cavers, but that's only going to get us about 10% of the vote; how do reach the others; maybe you prepare another letter to the editor; the first one didn't say much, but at least it made us look like a team player.

      N.M.H.,
I can multitask, admittedly not to the point of Mr. Brinkmeier, but a couple of things at a time. For example, I can read Google's ad policy on political advertising and its policy on solicitation of funds and determine that Mark Mulliner's campaign site violates that policy. Also, I could wonder why you chose this specific pseudonym to try and derail Mrs. Gutenkauf's candidacy and my guess it has something to do with the same reason President Obama's critics liked to use his middle name.

"doremus, we have a problem" how are we going to handle this. since you are anonymous (well not really, most people know its me or cu or dg); how are we going to make a complaint to the proper authorities. darnit, we have to come out of the shadows for this one ...

People should really use their real name unless there is a compelling reason for not doing so.

I want to thank those kind people that have congratulated me on the news of this press release. That is what the story is supposed to be about.

And to the people that have filled these pages with hate and lies to the extent that my daughter had to hear about that, shame on you both e.g. poster and candidate.

The Mark Mulliner Mayoral campaign will not go negative. And, the Mark Mulliner Mayoral campaign is in 100% compliance with all laws contrary to the lies and hate Doremus Jessup frequents these pages with. The Mark Mulliner Mayoral campaign contract with Google Ads is one I am quite familiar with as is the representative of that company with whom negotiations were completed. Per the contract and the only interpretation that matters, i.e. the two parties to that contract, the Mark Mulliner Mayoral campaign is in full compliance with all Google Ads policies. Doremus Jessup shame on you for your lies. Your candidate of choice who puts you up to these posts is a Sinclair Lewis fan I am sure.

For real communication, I urge anyone to contact me. Many have concerning the news of this article the screening process and the DCBA process outcome

I do not think we have any bad candidates, not at all. At times it is hard to me to decide. There are many things I like about Mark Mulliner. The same goes for Diane.
I do not know enough about Mr. Morley to decide. I for some reason do not know his history. I do believe both Mark and Diane represent the somewhat independent voice and unfortunately I predict that they will divide the vote between themselves. My only thought is that Diane was somewhat tainted by those who want to spin outcomes. I am not saying it is right, Diane and Paula very capably represented both their wards and the city. That I know for sure. Diane also allowed herself to be baited into her "shut up " moment and I sure that it hurt her, even though it shouldn't. I like her resolute passion. Because of the above it might be wisdom for her to throw her support to Mr. Mulliner. I feel bad for saying this because I think the world of her independence. My conviction is that whoever wins the community should get behind them, keep them accountable and avoid infighting and division. Some people expressed contempt for our previous Mayor. Don't worry Pete, I at times imagined myself in your shoes. I probably would have been run out of town. Anyway, I do think Mark Mulliner would make an excellent Mayor and is very ethical and really listens. That does not mean the other candidates are defective. Doremus, and some of the regular commentators, why don't you declare who you support and your reasons for doing so.

Directly from Google ad policy page.
Google allows the solicitation of funds by politicians and political parties that aren't tax-exempt as long as the landing page clearly indicates that the donation isn't tax-exempt.
and Your ad or website is promoting the solicitation of funds that aren't tax-exempt.

My posts state that you violate a policy, I did not state that any laws were broken. Would you say it is alright to violate a policy as long as it does not violate a law?

Also, my candidate of choice has no idea who I am. And who isn't a Sinclair Lewis fan? Kudos to you for being the first to mention it.

      Finally,
I do not hate you or Mr. Mulliner, my quest is for a better Elmhurst. I point out things that I think are wrong, if you do become a judge I would hope that you would not let differing opinions cause you emotional harm.

      Alan,
Your sign sits on my front lawn and I think the world of you. I was surprised by your thoughts on Doremus. Just like myself, no one agrees with everything you express. I unfortunately always try to look at all sides of an issue. Being dogmatic is perhaps easier and many people favor that style. You have so much involvement in the community and have a very trustworthy character that the fact that you support Mr. Mulliner is very compelling. I have talked to Mark several times and sensed strong character. I respect that. He is not "slick". Another good quality. He listens and is a bright man. The complexities of elections never ceases to amaze me. Take care

      Alan,

I wonder if I should call the Police or just put the signs back but when I left this morning my signs were up and when I returned they were torn out of the ground and bent. No, it was not the wind. I hope this election does not turn that petty and negative.
