Dumpster Scuffle Ends in Arrest and Man Allegedly Makes Lewd Comment to Woman in Stairwell

Joel Garay, 45, 10467 Doris, Rosemont, was arrested and charged with battery after an incident on the 200 block of North York Road at 10:05 a.m. Feb. 15. Garay and Feliciano Nava, 45, 1030 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines, were scavenging for pallets and metal from a dumpster when the complainant told them to get away from the dumpster and not take anything, police said. Garay kicked the complainant in his right calf. He was released on bond. Nava was charged with scavenging without a commercial license and released on bond.
Michael R. Voras, 50, 148 N. Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police said he was seen urinating in the stairwell at the Metra station, 128 W. First St., at 10:25 a.m. Feb. 16. A witness told police that as she walked past him, he made a lewd comment to her. He was released on bond.
Robert J. Banas Jr., 46, 757 S. York Road, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after he was seen falling several times in the area of York and Oneida at 11:28 a.m. Feb. 18. He was taken to the hospital.
A group of five teen-agers were cited under city ordinance for prowling, violation of curfew and possession of fireworks after police received a call for suspicious activity at Timothy Christian School, 188 W. Butterfield Road, at 2:25 a.m. Feb. 18. The boys were found on the east side of the school duct-taping doors, windows and the flag pole. They ran from police, but they were all apprehended after a search that involved a police dog. Arrested were an 18-year-old from Lombard, two 18-year-olds from Darien, and two 17-year-olds, addresses not given.
Possession of Cannabis
Cesar Adan, 21, 621 S. Tripp Ave., Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over his black Honda Civic for no headlights at Lake and Walnut at 12:51 a.m. Feb. 15. He was released on bond.
Angela Menolascino, 22, 464 W. Montrose, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over her black Chevrolet Cobalt for disobeying a traffic control device at Spring and St. Charles roads at 1:01 a.m. Feb. 17. She was released on bond.
