Discussion on Dual Elected Duty for City Council Members Continues Wednesday
Committee will continue discussion on whether referendum question should be on November or April ballot.
Elmhurst's Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee members will continue their discussion on whether a member of the City Council can hold more than one elected position.
After hearing an opinion from an attorney, the committee on June 26 decided to recommend that the question be brought to the voters via referendum, but they did not decide whether it should appear on the November or April ballot.
A group of residents has begun collecting petitions to get the question on the November ballot.
The committee will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at City Hall, 209 N. York St. Also on the agenda is a discussion about the community grant program for fiscal year 2013. Members of the public are welcome to speak.
