Cronin Appoints Final DuPage County Election Commissioner

All three commission members have been replaced following revelations of poor ethics practices earlier this year.

Editor's Note: The following was submitted by a DuPage County staff member.

A Wheaton attorney has been appointed to fill the final vacancy on the three-member DuPage Election Commission. DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin selected Christopher Hage to complete the remaining term of former Election Commission Chairman Rick Carney, who stepped down in May.

“I pledged to bring a professional approach to the Election Commission, and Chris Hage possesses the experience and work ethic needed to oversee this key public agency,” Cronin said. “As we approach a critical national election this fall, I feel confident that the new leadership team we have installed at the Election Commission will work in an open, ethical manner that reflects the best interest of DuPage County voters.”

Hage practices criminal and family law with the firm of Kathryn L. Harry and Associates P.C. in Oak Brook. He is a former prosecutor with the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office in Wheaton and past legal counsel to the Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee in Springfield. His term will expire in January 2013.

“This is a great opportunity to serve the people of DuPage County and I’m grateful to Chairman Cronin for appointing me to this position,” Hage said. “DuPage has always prided itself on an open and fair electoral process and I am committed to ensuring that legacy remains unchanged into the future.”

Following revelations earlier this year of poor ethics and procurement practices at the agency, Cronin appointed Cathy Ficker Terrill of Elmhurst and Art Ludwig of West Chicago to the Election Commission in April. Over the last several weeks, the commission has instituted new ethics, personnel and procurement policies as well as eliminated the use of credit cards and cell phone use by commission staff.

There couldn't have been a more unethical person appointed to this position than Chris Hage.

Google Chris Hage Dixon Police to learn more about his unethical and thuggish behavior towards women. Chris Hage harrassed and threatened the federal employment of a U.S. Marine.

"With this letter, I address the threat and harrassment I have been unduly subjected to by Mr. Christopher Hage, an attorney in DuPage County, Illinois."

"Chris Hage spoke out of order. He walked up to stated to directly Olga, “How do you think this will be reflected on the Federal Transportation Department?” Then, Chris Hage proceeded to harass Gloria Campos about Olga’s employment at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Chris Hage was then escorted out of the convention hall by a City of Dixon Police Officer."

I think we should put up video survellience technology like CSPAN so tax payers can monitor their activities from their recliner, and we should microchip them so we can make sure they are working hard with all that money we give them
