60-Degree Thanksgiving in Elmhurst Should Make for a Balmy Turkey Trot
Temperatures will remain unseasonably warm until Friday.
As we march towards the end of November—a time for snow, some might say—we are instead seeing temperatures that look more like outdoor-sports weather.
If your Thanksgiving Day plans involve running the Turkey Trot in Elmhurst, you will likely be enjoying some warm weather for the season. It will all be a distant memory by Friday, however, as temperatures begin to feel more seasonal.
Here's your weather:
Wednesday: Partly cloudy, high of 59, low-40s overnight.
Thursday: Partly cloudy and breezy during the day, low-60s for a high, upper-30s overnight.
Friday: Look for a change on Friday, with 22 mile-per-hour winds ushering in cooler temperatures. Friday's high will be 38 and low, 25.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, high of 34, mid-20s overnight.
Sunday: Partly cloudy, low-40s during the day, upper-20s overnight.

I think this photo is inappropriate and distasteful, is that wrong? I see they are actually in public dressed that way. I guess the times are a changing.

I find your comment hilarious. Especially because you are so offended that a team is wearing their uniform to run a 5k. I'm doing the speedo run this year with the team, and its a great way to build some team spirit, and get some attention for the swim team. I doubt teenagers wearing speedos will offend too many people other than yourself.

I think its stupid they run in speedos, but whatever, they just want attention

We take a lot of pride in what we do at the pool while representing York. We put in just as much work as any other team at York, and receive a fraction of the recognition and support from the community. But we do it anyway. We do it for our teammates, for our friends, and for our families. We take a lot of pride in wearing that Speedo, and if we want a little recognition and attention, then what's wrong with that? Sadly, the Turkey Trot was likely the most attention that this community will give to York's Swim and Dive program this year. I challenge you to prove me wrong.

Lighten up, Stewart. They're swimsuits. Just like the ones you probably wore back in high school. I'm thrilled that the next generation of adults feels the community spirit. If this is how they learn to give back to those less fortunate, so be it.

I imagine it is a matter of context. At the pool, it would seem normal. Walking around downtown in the winter would seem strange.

All of you that are disturbed by this photo really need to lighten up ! It's a fun event for the kids and community.
Do you even have a "sense of humor"??

As a person who ran in a Speedo, I would just like to say, yes it strange. But distasteful? No. We did it because it was a fun thing to do. It gave people a good laugh.

I think it's cool that the kids run in their speedos! To show my support, I'll be running next year in my speedo - then you will know the true meaning of distasteful!!!!
