William C. Gooch, Jr., chairman of the board of directors of the Community Bank of Elmhurst, announced long-term bank director William B. von Stein of Wood Dale was elected to director emeritus status at the bank’s board of directors meeting Aug. 19. Von Stein becomes the sixth emeritus director.

Von Stein, retired vice president for development at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and former president of the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation, was a director of the Community Bank of Elmhurst since its creation in 1993. “He was a productive, positive and loyal member of our board of directors for many years”, Gooch remarked. “We are pleased to have him become an emeritus director.”

Von Stein currently serves as a commissioner of the Elmhurst Senior Citizens Commission and is also an active member of the Elmhurst Rotary Club.
