Soles for Africa Shoe Drive
ELMHURST, Ill. - Want to make a difference in a child’s life? Donate gently used shoes to Soles for Africa by September 1, and turn what you thought of as an old used-up pair of shoes into a new opportunity for a child. In many parts of Africa, children walk barefoot many miles to and from school every day. We want to make their daily journeys easier and help keep them safe from injury, which could prevent them from being able to go to school.
It’s easy to help: Simply bring your gently used shoes to Courts Plus, 186 S. West Avenue, Elmhurst, by September 1. So far, Soles for Africa has made three major pickups, amounting to an estimate of 1,000 shoes! Help us reach our September 1 goal of 2,100 shoes. Additionally, Soles for Africa is also accepting used tennis and soccer balls, which are scarce in rural Africa.
