Kyle P. Dieling, 27, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, in Homer Glen. He was a patrol officer with the Elmhurst Police Department.
Dieling graduated from York High School in 2001. He earned a degree from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at College of DuPage, and a bachelor's degree in criminology from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky. He was a founding member of the Murray State Bass Club.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, and from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York St., Elmhurst. A Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elmhurst Police Benevolent and Athletic Association, 125 E. First St., Elmhurst, IL 60126.
