Nominations Sought for Exceptional Elmhurst Volunteers
Know an outstanding volunteer? The City of Elmhurst’s Commission on Youth and Senior Citizens Commission, as well as Character Counts in Elmhurst, are seeking nominees for the annual City of Elmhurst Character Counts Exemplary Service Awards for Youth and Adults.
Nominations are being accepted for volunteers who reside in Elmhurst and/or within Elmhurst District 205 boundaries, or have given service which has benefited the Elmhurst community. To nominate an Exemplary Volunteer, please click here.
The Service Awards for Youth and Adults recognizes individuals who have demonstrated at least one of the following criteria through volunteer service:
- The level of involvement should demonstrate an exemplary commitment
- The service should provide for the health and well being of the community at large
- The service should promote the spirit of volunteerism
Nominees must be at least 12 years of age and service must be voluntary and unpaid. The award is focused on individual achievement, however individuals who perform community service as part of a group are eligible for nomination.
Nominations must be received by Friday, Feb. 10.
Award winners will be congratulated by Elmhurst Mayor Pete DiCianni and members of the City Council at a reception to be held in the Frick Center at Elmhurst College March 21.
