Mary Bourke: Living Matters is on display at Elmhurst Art Museum through Oct. 3. Bourke's imagery is drawn from her personal experiences. Her twin sons, husband and parents are often her models. She uses her own image as inspiration, as well.
The world she describes through her art is often filled with danger, as if we all stand on a precipice of uncertainty.
