Learn About Invasive Species At Environmental Show
ELMHURST, Ill. – What bird is known as a “flying weed” because of its tendency to outcompete native species? Visit the Wilder Park Conservatory this February and find out during the Space Invasion: Plant & Animal Invaders Show. Learn all about invasive plant and animal species in our area including the house sparrow, Asian carp, Japanese beetle and long horned beetle, all of which crowd out and outcompete native wildlife. The show is open February 1-28 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is a great opportunity to learn about a unique aspect of the natural world. For more information, contact the Wagner Community Center at (630) 993-8901.
